GTS specialise in the servicing of large OTR tyres through to small light vehicle tyres on mines. This includes a total service of mounting and demounting tyres from vehicles and rims, to balancing of light vehicle tyres, and puncture repairs.
If you don’t have the expertise, ability or trained technicians to properly maintain all your tyres, consider outsourcing this part of your business to our competent tyre service company. This is an emerging trend. Through this practice more companies are focusing on their core business of moving ore and leaving the tire program to “experts” in the field. These service companies (such as Global Tyre Solutions) know how to ensure correct repair procedures, perform tyre pressure checks, and are aware of how to identify problems such as over-loading, speeding, poor road management and dual tyre mismatching to name only a few; all of which seriously shorten the life of the tyre and create a poor cost-per-hour factor for the site management to deal with.
Vertical mount rims
Global Tyre Solutions specialize in the servicing of vehicles fitted with Vertical Mount Rims. The concept is to remove tyres on the outer dual positions without permanently removing the rims. This allows for quick and safe tyre changes to be done in a fraction of the time it would take using the conventional method. Downtime is reduced while vehicle availability and profit is increased.
Benefits of Vertical Mount Rims
- Vehicle downtime is reduced
- The outer rim is never removed; except for maintenance
- Reduced inventory of adaptors, studs, wheel nuts, washers, spare wheel rim/bases
- No torquing or re-torquing of wheel nuts is necessary
- Reduced risk of staff injury
- Savings of as much as 90 minutes on a tyre change has been recorded, nearly 50% faster than conventional rims
